Parent-child workshop at First Steps School with Story, Art, Music and Movement

Grateful to spend time with the First Steps school family – parents, children and teachers on July 12 2025

The Invitation read –
In today’s fast-paced world, children need safe, creative spaces to
express, connect, and reflect. In this interactive Storytelling
through Music and Movement session, Ms. Ramya Iyer will weave stories
using voice, body, and rhythm, engaging children and parents in a
delightful journey of imagination, expression, and bonding. It’s a wonderful opportunity for children to experience storytelling
beyond words — through sound, gestures, and movement — nurturing both
language and emotional learning.

Deeply grateful for the invitation

Truly touched beyond words – the time I spent with the gathering was very special – story, song, music and movement :). It ended with a collective (He)art expression where each pair drew portraits of each other.

A lot of fun was shared, a lot of emotions shared (was moved beyond words when a parent teared up while responding to a story).  Felt the invisible thread that connected all of us.

Grateful for the presence which made the space so warm and open. Thank you for the kinds words.

A mother said this was a meaningful way of spending time with her child and everyone who had gathered.

A senior teacher said she felt like a child and had a feeling of everything else melting away. A parent shared she felt like she met her inner child and a teacher added saying she could let her child self come alive. A child said “today is the best day over” capturing what I felt for that day too. And bachchas, you all made it

Love and gratitude, Ramya <3
